Gratitude Changes Your Frequency
“Thank you” is magical. Why is that? What happens when we say, “Thank you”? As Alice Walker, Pulitzer Prize winning author of The Color Purple has said, “‘Thank you’ is the best prayer that anyone could say. I say that one a lot. Thank you expresses extreme gratitude, humility, understanding.”
Energetically there is much more that occurs with gratitude than you may realize. Our hearts can only hold one emotion at a time. Emotions can evolve quickly so that it may seem that we are feeling multiple emotions. But it is all generated from the rapid thoughts which trigger different emotions and feelings. Each feeling held within the heart carries a vibrational frequency and a charge from the thoughts in our brain. There is shift that occurs when we move from self-indulged, isolating emotions of the mind such as those created by anxiety and depression to the heart expanding feelings of thankfulness which reconnect us with a larger world.
The magic of gratitude is how it seemingly dissolves negative thinking and pulls us out of the “rabbit hole” of false stories and limiting beliefs to the reality of our potential and our connectedness with all life. Fear and love cannot exist in our hearts simultaneously. As powerful beings of energy, we are responsible for choosing our thoughts and which direction we want to go in. The power of choice and free will are ours. We have the ability to change our thoughts. Our thoughts are NOT in charge of us. Gratitude is a doorway out of overwhelm where we can identify with our potential and leave behind false notions of victimhood.
Our hearts have more electrical magnetic connections than the brain and contain brain cells within the heart that actually send messages to the brain. Bringing our energy into the body with our breath, we calm the mind and the nervous system. Our evolution depends on our ability to reconnect to our hearts, to remember that we are eternally connected to a wonderous and benevolent Universe which desires to know itself through each of us.
By becoming more heart-centered through gratitude, a new world of possibilities opens. It is up to us to take the first step. Say, “Thank you”. As we open our hearts with gratitude, the Universe begins to pour through us and transform the illusions of the mind which have kept us in isolation. When our hearts are relaxed and open, we become more creative. The heart informs the brain that it is safe to create.
The founder of Reiki, Mikao Usui, knew the power of gratitude as an antidote to anger and worry. Gratitude or Kanshashite in Japanese is an essential part of the Reiki principles known as the Gokai which Usui sensei created for his students and all Reiki recipients to say every day aloud. Every Reiki student learns the Gokai as a guide for becoming more loving with Reiki.
The Gokai actually changes the electrical charge in our cells and raising our vibrational frequency. Practicing gratitude restores our mental health and well-being as it transforms us into more loving human beings. Gratitude is the first step towards compassion and reuniting with the greater part of who you are – your soul. “Reiki is compassion in action.” – Chiyoko Yamuguchi sensei.
When you wake up in the morning, start your day giving thanks for this new day filled with the promise of potential opportunities to grow, connect, learn, love and experience joy in your life.
Allow gratitude to become a daily practice. End the day pausing to think or write about what brought you joy today. Live with gratitude and your glass will be always at least half full.
I am deeply grateful for your support and connection. Through the Reiki services and classes, energetic counselling, programs and products I have enjoyed serving you and your physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being. In return I have the honor of watching you transform as your Light becomes brighter. YOU are connected and always have been to a magnificent Universe. Open your heart and Be loved this Thanksgiving. See you again soon!
Happy Thanksgiving!
